Saferider has been delivering Q-Ride training courses in Hervey Bay since 2011 Courses generally run with a max of only 3 students per instructor or if preferred can be ‘personalized’ with one student per instructor (by prior arrangement and subject to availability)
Our training courses use the latest rider to rider in- helmet communication technology enabling and the instructor and the student to talk to each other whilst on the road .
The Q-Ride Training courses used by all service providers in Queensland are designed and approved by Transport and Main Roads Queensland.
Q-Ride courses are designed for persons wanting to obtain their Motorcycle licence for the first time or those returning to motorcycle riding after an absence of many years.
Due to the small number of students per course, we are able to offer a more personalized training experience which is well suited to the absolute first timer who may feel pressured or intimidated by the presence of a large number of other students in the group.
Our Instructors have more than 30 years of real world motorcycle riding experience and are dedicated professional approved motorcycle instructors, offering individual tuition on either our bikes or if preferred , you can use your own bike if you have one .
Saferider Motorcycle Training also offers additional post licence on or off-road refresher courses, focusing on defensive riding , cornering, braking and road positioning skills.
Saferider Motorcycle Training delivers approved Q-Ride Training courses every day of the week (excluding Sundays and public holidays) at a time suitable to you .
More about Saferider’s Senior Instructor - Tony Downs
Riding motorcycles since the age of 17. Tony rides both on and off road and has been fortunate enough to spend some time riding overseas, whilst touring the UK and Europe by motorbike in 2007 and 2009.
Tony has also as participated in numerous track days over the years including Philip Island in Victoria, and has recently completed California Superbike School levels 1 2 and 3
Tony spent 17 years as a Sales Manager for Pacific Dunlop before deciding to hang up the suit in 2009 and pursue his passion for motorcycles, by completing his Instructor training and becoming an Accredited Rider Trainer in Brisbane.
Tony has been delivering Q-Ride training courses in Hervey Bay and the Fraser Coast in Queensland since the middle of 2011. Tony also attained his RideCraft Bronze level coaching accreditation through Motorcycling Australia in 2012. Currently riding a 2014 Ducati Multistrada GT, Tony also has a 1999 Suzuki Gsxr750 SRAD in his stable of bikes, as well as a fleet of bikes used for motorcycle training including; Honda CB125E, Honda CB250, and a Honda VFR800.
As well as delivering Q-Ride Training Courses, Tony also offers both Pre and Post Licence Motorcycle Training.
